Palestinian-American Adolescent Liberated After Nine Months in Israeli Custody

A Palestinian-American adolescent having endured a nine-month period in Israeli detention absent formal charges gained freedom.

Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old when he was arrested this past winter in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, where he was visiting on holiday from Florida under suspicion of rock throwing toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

United States authorities expressed satisfaction with the news of Mohammed's release.

Mohammed, now 16, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.

They said he is pale, underweight, while battling health issues acquired while detained.

Via family representatives, family spokesperson spoke of the family's "tremendous relief".

Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Currently, we're concentrating on getting Mohammed prompt healthcare he needs after experiencing Israel's abuse and inhumane conditions throughout his detention."

American authorities stated they would maintain to extend consular services to the teenager's relatives.

Several congressional representatives had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and the White House, urging greater action to release him.

Mohammed's parent, parent of four children operating an ice cream shop from Florida, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations to throwing stones due to physical abuse.

There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition in detention through court documents.

He stayed lacking indictment in Ofer prison throughout the occupied territory.

It is also home to grown detainees, featuring prisoners sentenced regarding severe security violations and murder.

An estimated 350 Palestinian minors in security custody detained within Israeli facilities, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Numerous remain uncharged and human rights groups, including UN bodies, say some have suffered abuse and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, the uncle stated they would maintain their efforts seeking justice for their relative family member Sayfollah.

The dual national youth per medical officials died from beating by Israeli settlers amid clashes in July.

During that period, defense forces stated officials were investigating reports a Palestinian civilian was deceased.

The two cousins were employed together at their family's ice cream business in Tampa, Florida.

No charges have been filed regarding Sayfollah's death.
